Raleigh
My wife and I moved to Raleigh almost 4 months ago. We intend to stay. We had lived in Pennsylvania prior to this move and were ready for a life and climate change. I will miss skiing in the winter but I'll trade the 5 months of cold, grey, snowy winters for the warm sunny days of Raleigh any time. Raleigh is a great medium sized city with a lot of things to do. We have enjoyed the numerous outdoor events and cultural activities since we've moved down here. Highlights include the year round huge farmer's market and the many trails and greenways that allow you to get out into nature and relax or in my case, work up a sweat exploring the area on my bike. Raleigh is a young city too so it has a lively atmosphere and young vibe to it. It's probably due to the 3 major Universities in the Triangle that constantly feed new freshmen and new graduates into the area. Another nice surprise if you've lived in the northeast for any length of time, is how friendly the people here are. I walk into Home Depot and it's like I'm the mayor or something. You constantly have to turn down help and get so many 'Welcomes" and "Have a Nice Days" that your head starts to spin. People here actually let you into traffic and I haven't been beeped at once. I like it here.
